Jacob M. “Jake” Verschoor, 21, of Mount Prospect, IL. Born November 12, 1997 in Evanston, IL, passed away January 28, 2019. Beloved son of Michael E. Verschoor and Deborah A. Verschoor, nee Finn. Loving brother and best friend of Kevin. Cherished grandson of Edward (Mary) Verschoor and Judy Verschoor (Gaylon Smilden) and Richard (Diane) Finn and the late Susan Finn. Loving nephew of Linda Bruynell, Sandra (Joseph) Reeder, Jenny (Scott) Kingren and Kathy Finn. Dear cousin of many. Loving friend of Jessica Zalewski – the true love of his life.

Jake graduated from Prospect High School in 2016 where he excelled in football and wrestling. Hobbies included fishing and his lifelong devotion to the Chicago Cubs.

Most notably, Jake was a warm, loving soul who cared deeply, wore his heart on his sleeve, and had the natural gift to make those around him bust out in laughter. He could bring smiles to a room as well as listen to those in need. Jake had a zest for life – whether selecting the right spice while playfully preparing a delicious meal or wearing a creative outfit for a fun night out. He lived life fully with a no holds barred approach along with a genuine spirit that truly touched people’s hearts.

Visitation Friday, February 1, 2019 from 3 – 9 PM at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd. (at Northwest Hwy), Mt. Prospect.

Mass Saturday, February 2, 2019, 10 AM at St. Emily Catholic Church, 1400 E. Central Rd., Mt. Prospect.

In lieu of flowers, the Verschoor Family will establish a memorial fund in Jake’s honor.
